Mid/Advanced Backend Engineer

WhiteAway Group is a young, ambitious, and successful e-commerce and retail business in rapid growth. Through several online shops and the franchise chain Skousen, we sell white goods and premium products for the home – to customers in all of Scandinavia.

As their Software Engineer, you’ll be part of our tech department alongside 40 dedicated and brilliant colleagues. You’ll work within an autonomous product squad, collaborating with UX designers, data scientists, and software engineers across Poland and Denmark to solve problems and achieve your squad’s mission.

Responsibilities

• T-shape – wide & varied spectrum of development tasks with a focus on a particular business topic, from beginning to feature delivered to the client, you have the chance to be a driver for a change
• Being a part of 1 of our 6 autonomous product squads, where you’ll contribute to building our new B2B and B2C e-commerce platform
• Engaging in solution design and architecture discussions within your squad
• You can shape your own role in the organization and influence the whole organization, we are very open to new ideas and improvements in our processes
• Embracing hypothesis-driven development, focusing on achieving desired outcomes and fulfilling the squad’s mission
• Spend 90% of the time developing new features
• Highly ambitious tasks allowing you to master and expand the full range of skills, not only as a developer but also considering business/QA/DevOps/UI/UX points of view

Requirements

• Typescript – good knowledge of Node.js, Next.js, with a keen interest in optimizing performance and scalability – 3+ years
• Event-driven microservice architecture – good understanding of architecture and patterns
• We use a modern set of CI/CD tools:
  Git, Docker, Terraform, CircleCi
• Ensure high standards:
  Jest, Supertest, Eslint, Postman, Prettier
• Good understanding of project management methodologies: Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Waterfall
