AI Engineer

Unik System Design (USD) is a Danish company with offices in Vejle (HQ), Aalborg and Copenhagen. Unik System Design delivers software products for the housing/property management industry. The products are market-leading in Denmark.

Responsibilities

As an AI Engineer at Unik, you are a full member of a development team with responsibility for delivering product features – from idea to production.
AI is a natural and primary part of how they build software. You use AI-powered development tools, agents, and workflows throughout planning, implementation, testing, and refactoring, while remaining fully accountable for correctness, security, performance, and maintainability.
You translate business needs into clear technical direction, shape and validate solutions, and contribute to raising engineering quality across the team.

• Understand business needs and product context in collaboration with product owners and stakeholders
• Translate requirements into clear solution directions, constraints, and implementation choices
• Use AI tools (e.g. Copilot) as a natural and primary part of development
• Make deliberate choices of AI tools, models, and approaches based on task complexity, risk profile, and cost
• Ensure correctness, robustness, and long-term maintainability of delivered solutions
• Contribute to architectural discussions and technical decisions within the team

Requirements

• Solid professional experience with development in C#/.NET, including microservice-based architectures
• Proven ability to deliver production features end-to-end using AI as a default engineering workflow across planning, implementation, testing, and refactoring
• Ability to practice specification-before-prompting by defining requirements, constraints, and acceptance criteria before AI-assisted implementation
• Ability to apply structured prompting (multi-step, contextual, constrained) and iteratively improve prompts based on output quality
• Demonstrated skill in validating AI-generated output through tests, edge-case checks, and code review before merge, and in challenging weak or incorrect output

Will be an advantage:

• Experience with task-focused agents, MCP-backed tooling, or AI-assisted automation
• Proficiency in Azure, Kubernetes, Docker, or comparable cloud/container technologies
• Entity Framework Core
• RabbitMQ or similar message brokers
• Angular
• CI/CD
